Team USA at USGA

Thursday marked the first day of competition at the USGA State team championship. Team Pa had the last three tee times of the day, finishing the round after 6:00pm. The first 9 started out a little bumpy for our girls. We made the turn with our two qualifying scores totaling +7 over par. The girls rallied on the  second 9 with the two Q scores totaling -4 under par! I am so proud of all three girls!  Ellen was enduring significant pain with a hip injury. She could barely walk but she was tough as nails and persevered through the round.  She refused to give in and posted a great score. Aurora played like a ninja after the turn, bettering her first 9 by 6 shots!!  Her last 10 holes of the day, she was 1 under par. Aurora handled herself like a pro staying in the moment and finishing strong. Brynn blew away her final 9 of the day posting -3 under par (including a double bogey, do the math). She putted for eagle on two par fives (the only one in the field to hit both of these par 5s in two), her total for the day was -1 under par. These girls are tough. Currently Team Pa is  +3 over par, tied for sixth in the tournament.
