Bring On The Spring

Spring is in the air, but the weather in Colorado can change quickly. I am anxious to get out and add a few more things to my exercise routine. These past two winters, falls and springs have been different for me, as I’ve been recuperating from shoulder surgery (my left shoulder in 2012 and my right in 2013). This has meant that my winters have not involved the usually buffet of winter sports like snowboarding and cross-country skiing. Instead, I’ve been relegated to hiking, up and down the mountains, over and over again. When my shoulder got a little stronger and I could negotiate my skis and skins, I could “skin” up the mountain. I am lucky to live in such a diverse and wonderful place where I can still enjoy these activities in the great outdoors—it has kept me sane (somewhat). But enough of that uphill trekking, in one form or another.I am ready for spring and summer, and ready to play!

It’s March 24th, the weather is just starting to warm up and bikini season is right around the corner. Are you ready? Are you ready to ditch those sweaters and dawn that tunic? Shed the sweats and throw on a pair of capris? Let’s be honest, as much as we love the warmer weather, some of us go into panic mode right around this time of year. That, my friends is the true meaning of March Madness. Realizing there’s only 60 days, maybe less to be beach ready. It’s time to buckle down and get serious about getting in shape.
